This page is for reporters, editors, researchers and anyone who wants to use Boise Travel Club's fare data. Everything here is free to use with a credit, there is no embargo, and no permission request is needed. For a custom data pull or a quote, email hello@boisetravelclub.com.

The dataset

The Boise Fare Index reports observed economy fares on routes departing Boise Airport (BOI): median, lowest, percentile spread, observation counts and 30-day change, for round-trip and one-way itineraries separately. Full methodology and its limits are documented on that page.

License and credit

The dataset is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC-BY-4.0). Republish, chart, translate or build on it, commercially or not, with a credit to the source.

Boise Travel Club is a family business in Boise, Idaho. It monitors fares departing Boise Airport (BOI) and alerts Treasure Valley travelers when prices drop, with a free tier and a paid membership. It is not an airline, a travel agency or a booking site: travelers book with the airline or booking provider directly. More on the about page.

Can I use Boise Travel Club data in a story?

Yes. The Boise Fare Index is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International, so it is free to quote, chart and republish with a credit, including commercially. No permission request, no embargo, no paywall on the data.

Who do I contact for an interview or a data request?

Email hello@boisetravelclub.com. We answer press queries within one business day and can pull a custom cut of the fare data for a specific route, destination or date range at no charge.

Can you provide fare data for a route that is not published?

Often, yes. Routes below the 8-observation threshold are left off the public index because the sample is too small to publish, but we can share the raw observation count and caveats for a specific route on request.

What are the limits of this data?

The index records advertised economy fares, not what passengers paid, and is not weighted by bookings. It excludes seat, bag and change fees, and it is descriptive rather than predictive. We would rather a story carry those caveats than overstate what the numbers show.
